Soft
mount...
On a recent trip to Europe,
we noticed this Cap 232 ARF with ZDZ 50 and were anxious to see it
fly. When it was started, suddenly we realized it was no ordinary ARF.
There was very little shaking and it had a very pleasing sound.
The engine was idling like an electric. The owner was happy to show and
explain the setup. He also sent us these pictures.

The electronic device you see here in the picture above is connected to the
power management system (PMS) located in airplane to be described later.

Picture above shows the throttle servo mounted on engine plate which
moves with engine eliminating variations in throttle travel.

The engine box is made with carbon fiber cloth over lite ply on one
side. Notice the four M8 rubber Well nuts which is the key to this entire
setup. The each of the four Well nuts is on different diameter from engine's
center which spreads and
defuses the engine pulses even more.

The 1/8" thick engine plate is made from 3 layers of 1/32 Beech plywood and
4 layers of carbon fiber cloth.

Since the mounting bolts are very large M8, they are custom machined from
duraluminum to reduce weight.

Muffler is also custom made from 0.5mm stainless steel attached also with
two M3 rubber Well nuts.
The airplane belongs to Mr. Jindrich Hofman from Czech Republic.
